He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Jean Belz; his daughter Deborah Lynn Chipman (Jay); his brothers, Eugene Nowak (late Betty) and Pete Nowak; and his parents, Leon Nowak and Stella Nowak.
He is survived by: his son Gerard Charles Nowak (Katherine); his granddaughters, Jill Ann Chipman and Keri Thomas; and his siblings, Jean Muri (Bill) and Christine Upton (late John).
