He was predeceased by: his wife Muriel. He is survived by: his children, Gregg (Lisa), Gus (Jennifer) and Kelli; his grandchildren, Samantha, Brandon, Kyle, Thomas and Katrina; his great grandchildren, Lily, Owen and Monroe; and his son Hermann (Madeline Koppelmann).

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the West Islip Fire Department Juniors.
