He was predeceased by: his parents, Fricis Zilgme and Franceska Zilgme; and his siblings, Richard, Arthur, Leon and Gaida.

He is survived by: his children, Aida Mezzanotte (Vincent), Peter Zilgme (Kristen) and Arnis Zilgme (Michele); his brother Zigmund Zilgme; and his sisters-in-law, Anne Zilgme and Maria Zilgme (Bill) of Buffalo. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
