He was predeceased by: his parents, Aurora Batista Rivera and Miguel Alvarez Velez. He is survived by: his wife Tomasa "Delmy" Alvarez; his children, Miguel Alvarez, Maria Alvarez, Francisco Moises (Lesley) and Carmen Flores (Moises); his niece Erica Cruz; and his nephew Marco Flores. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and six siblings.
