He was predeceased by: his parents, Edith Prattella and Vincent "Sergeant Jim" Prattella; and his brother Robert Prattella. He is survived by: his wife Mary Prattella; his children, William George Prattella (Jennifer Klagsbrun), Dawn Prattella, Christopher Prattella and Todd Prattella (Diana Prattella); his grandchildren, Carina D'Orazio, Jenna D'Orazio, Vince D'Orazio, Lucca Prattella and Giulia Prattella; and his siblings, Carol Novellino and Richard Prattella.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the McMahon, Lyon & Hartnett Funeral Home, Inc. (491 Mamaroneck Ave, White Plains, NY 10605). A Mass was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church (138 Candlewood Lake Rd, Brookfield, CT 06804). An entombment was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at the Ferncliff Cemetery (280 Secor Rd, Hartsdale, NY 10530).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mercy University's General Scholarship Fund at mercy.edu/give . Donors should select "General Scholarship Fund" and note "In memory of Dr. William C. Prattella" at the bottom of the donation form , honoring his lifelong commitment to education and expanding opportunities for students.
