She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert A. Purdy and Lenora Purdy (Deckert); and her sister Keni Joan Purdy. She is survived by: her husband Wayne G. Ferguson of Whitehall; her sons, Joseph Ferguson (Laiken) and Ezra of Arlington, Vermont; and her siblings, Robert Purdy (Nancy) of Spokane, Washington, Robin Manell (Robert) of Newport and Jean Gray (Bruce) of Whitehall.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Karyn's memory be given to the Haynes House of Hope, 7187 State Route 149, Granville, NY 12832 and/or Samaritan's Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
