He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Shaffer and Isabel Shaffer (Gordon); and his brother James F. Shaffer. He is survived by: his wife Susan Shaffer (Nikodem); his daughters, Sara Shaffer (TJ Yantsides) and Samantha Szelazek (Adrian Szelazek); and his sisters-in-law, Alice Shaffer and Kathryn Nikodem.
