He was predeceased by: his parents, James E. VanWinkle and Eileen Fox VanWinkle; his wife Josephine "Josie" Wheeler VanWinkle; and his siblings, Kenny, Sandi, Doreen and Ramona.
He is survived by: his children, Debi Scott (Frank), Donna Hamblin (Chip), Diane Trumble (Grover), Jimbo Van Winkle (Missy), Darla Woodcock (Bryan), Denise Kuc (Vern) and Dori Montieth (Shawn); his sisters, Marjorie Baldwin and Karen Madrigal of San Bernadino, CA; and his in-laws, Bill, Pat Wheeler, Peg, Bob Kennedy, Janice and Bob Oakes. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren.
