She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Ronald E. Schifferle; her daughters, Kathy Burns (F. O' Brian) and Wendy Reimers; her grandchildren, Meghan Lillis (Michael), Ashley Gebler (Cory), Brenna Brandt (Donny) and Kelsey Reimers (Billy Milbrand); her great grandchildren, Charlotte, Cameron, Quinn, Raegan and Rory; her siblings, Richard Eckert (late Ruth) and Carole Wittmer (late Irwin); and her friend Christine Lexner. She was also cherished by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Amherst Chapel (5200 Sheridan Dr, Amherst, NY 14221). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, September 6th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the St. Leo the Great Church (885 Sweet Home Rd, Amherst, NY 14226).
If desired, contributions may be made in Joan's memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
