He is survived by: his children, Catherine "Cat" Maki and Matthew; his daughter-in-law Randi Maki; his grandsons, Ewan and Emmett; his siblings, Toini Maki Pulver, Walter (Patricia Maki) and Robert Maki; his nieces, Beth, Rachel (Larry), Megan (Chad), Jessica and Sarah (Spencer); his nephew James; and his close friend Jean.
