He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick W. Lort and Ruth Currie Lort; his son James Lort; and his siblings, Daniel Lort (Mary), Bonnie Michaels and William Lort (Donna).
He is survived by: his sons, Timothy Lort and Geoffrey Lort (Emily); his grandchild Madison Lort; and his brother Bruce Lort (Lori). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
