He was predeceased by: his wife Muriel "Mitzi" Hayes. He is survived by: his children, Donald, Lisa Hayes, Jr., Jonathan Hayes, Kenneth, Terri Hayes, Karyl Lynn (Karrie) and Douglas Shay; his grandchildren, Valerie, Scott, Shawn, Jen, Shannon, Colin, Courtney, Kyle, Joel, Sarah, Mat, Kenneth Jr., Tara, Justin, Michel, Amanda, Nicholas and Zekia; his great grandchildren, Emilee, Bella, Andy, Carmine, Eliana, Greyson, Parker, Everett, Mason, Willow, Seamus, Brantley, Wyatt, Kaylee, Katelyn, Karley, Kenzie, Madalyn and Emma; and his siblings-in-law, Robert, Meg Rounds and Beverly Rounds. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home (69 Maple St, Harpursville, NY 13787). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Windsor United Methodist Church (58 Chapel St, Windsor, NY 13865).
