He was predeceased by: his parents, Lena Dlugatch and David Dlugatch; his sister Marcia Dlugatch Zalsky; his son John David Dlugatch; and his son-in-law Robert A. Helms.
He is survived by: his wife Sally of South Fallsburg; his daughter Diane Helms of Tupper Lake; his grandchildren, Amanda Helms Ybanez (Joseph) of Carthage and Robert "Bobby" D. Helms of Canton; his great grandchild Isla R. Ybanez; his grandson Marek Sedlák (Slovakia) of Bratislava; and his sister-in-law Janet Burger Moss of Monticello. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
