We announce the death of Thomas J. Bowes (Wurtsboro, New York), who passed away on July 15, 2026, at the age of 87. Thomas will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Thomas will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Thomas will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Thomas’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Helen C. Bowes and Thomas R. Bowes; his brothers-in-law, Edward and John; and his great-nephew Jake.
He is survived by: his wife Theresa; his siblings, Patricia and Jay (Taffy); and his siblings-in-law, Kathleen (Michael), Rosanne and Thomas (Denise). He is also survived by fourteen nieces and nephews, eighteen great nieces and nephews and one great, great niece.
Since Thomas was a 911 survivor, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Tunnel for Towers Foundation.
