He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Kern and Edna Lucas Kern; his son James Kern; his brother George Kern; and his sister-in-law Marilyn Kern.
He is survived by: his wife Sheila Kern; and his son John Kern. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
