He was predeceased by : his parents, John Alden Burt and Elsie V. Goyer Burt; his wife Diane Bashford Burt; his son Christopher Scott Burt; and his siblings, Elmer Burt, Myrtle V. Miller and Nancy Hannigan.
He is survived by : his son James V. Burt, Jr.; his granddaughter Alexandra Rockwell; and his daughter-in-law Anne Burt.
