He was predeceased by: his parents, Leland "Jim" Townsend and Ida Townsend (Monagan); his sister Linda J. Hume (Daniel, Sr.); and his nephew William Hume. He is survived by: his son Ryan Townsend (Erin) of Middleport; his grandchildren, Jayden, R. J. and Max Townsend; and his nephew Daniel Hume, Jr..
