It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Dorothy Vail of Yonkers, New York, who passed away on March 16, 2023, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, J. Vernon Mateer and Huldah Mateer; her sister Shirley Smit; her brother-in-law Jacobus Smit; her sister Joan Prince; her brother-in-law George Prince; and her daughter Joanne Kathryn Vail.
She is survived by: her husband Kenneth Vail; her children, Marilyn Brands (David), Linda Danieli (Joe), David Vail (Lee), Janet Vail (Mark Duffy) and Daniel Vail (Gulnara); and her grandchildren, Kenneth Brands (Dara), Benjamin Brands (Sarah), Kristy Stauffer (Shawn), Cindi Shantz (Adam), Joseph Danieli, Timothy Vail (Christina), Debbie Henne (Randy), Isaac Vail and Jessica Vail. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren and much-loved nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Pleasant Valley.
