It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elizabeth Owens (Yonkers, New York), who passed away on March 26, 2026, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Daniels and Sophie Daniels; her children, Walter Daniels and Victoria Upshaw; and her brothers, Edward Daniels and William West.
She is survived by: her husband Andrew James Owens of West Virginia; her children, Andrea McKenzie (Amos), Andrew Owens and Dannielle Blagmon (Travon); her daughter-in-law Veronica Daniels; her siblings, Rosena Duryee, Robert Daniels (Marina), Anthony Daniels, Howard Daniels and Allen Daniels; and her grandchildren, Angela, Sedrick, Justin (Anisha), Eric, Anthonie, Kyshawn, Trey, Miracle, Tia, Travon, Marquise, Asia and Alexis. She is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
In 2016, State Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins proclaimed March 26th as "Elizabeth Owens Day" in recognition of her remarkable contributions to the residents of Yonkers and beyond.
