“George was a larger than life character. We grew up together in Inwood.- an Irish Catholic enclave in Upper Manhattan. In a group we called the Bears. He was our strong man. The Bears were the 1st generation to attend college. George somehow kept the other gangs at bay from terrorizing our group. It was all somewhat innocent compared to today. George had a strong will and worked hard. He was a friend that had my back and shaped my life to this day. God speed George…he rarely went slow.”
