We announce the death of John Nunes DaSilva (Yonkers, New York), who passed away on August 4, 2026, at the age of 88. John Nunes will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel DaSilva and Maria Emilia (Reis); his brother Agostinho DaSilva; his brother-in-law Horace Soares; and his parents-in-law, Francisco and Iria Soares.
He is survived by: his wife Julia DaSilva (Soares); his children, Dr. Daniel DaSilva (Amy) and Adelia DaSilva Eddy (Jason); his grandchildren, Kathryn, Peter, Elisa and John; his sister Florinda Couto; and his caregivers, Melissa Robinson and Barbara Blatt. He is also survived by his loving sisters-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
