He was predeceased by: his parents, Patrick McCann and Margaret McCann; his siblings, John, Pat, Lar, Carrie, Maura, Eithne and Bernie; his brothers-in-law, Seamus Shannon, Peter Glover and Tommy Murphy; and also Rose McCann.

He is survived by: his wife Peggy; his children, Claire Furey (Vincent), Arleen McEwan (Sean) and Bobby McCann; his grandchildren, Marisela, Damian, Keira, Colin and Carley; his great grandchild Jeremiah; his siblings, Noeline Shannon, Una Heaselden (Peter), Teresa Glover and Michael McCann (Mary); and his siblings-in-law, Jim O'Leary and Catherine McCann. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
