He was predeceased by: his parents, Anne Funk and Francis Funk; and his sister Patricia McGinis (Richard). He is survived by: his children, Laraine Anne Funk, Roger Paul Gutierrez (Tracy) and Alyssa Anne Funk (Will Crane); his wife Lynn Schiro Funk; his grandchild Francis; his nephews, Richard McGinis (Susan Holland) and Kenneth McGinis (Karen); his niece Charlotte; and his sister-in-law Paula Schiro.
