He was predeceased by: his parents, Kell Combs and Ethel Combs (Hall); his wife Connie Tackett; his close friend Sally Hawkins; his siblings, Walter, Evan, Carlos Combs, Shirley Combs and Judy Hensley; and his son-in-law Chuck Bennett.
He is survived by: his children, Marvin Combs (Brenda), Steven Combs (Paula), Rebecca Bennett and Brenda Combs; and his siblings, Ray Combs, Robert Combs and Edith Schick (Don). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations in French's honor may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
