He was predeceased by: his parents, James E. Dowdell and Martha E. Dowdell (Moore); his uncle Russell (Nora Dowdell); his wife Evelyn L. Dowdell; and his siblings, Roy E. Dowdell, Goldie Crothers, Edna Calhoun, Marie Martin, Daisy Best and Margaret Reynolds.
He is survived by: his children, Jody Lynn Mankamyer (Todd) of Culmerville, PA and Raymond R. "Rich" Dowdell (Pamela) of Brilliant, OH; his grandchildren, Ashley, Shawn Mankamyer, Raymond Brandon Dowdell and Honorae Elizabeth Dowdell; and his great grandchild Braxton Raymond Dowdell.
