He is survived by: his wife Barbara Jean Brunson; his daughter DaMita Jo Walker; his siblings, James Arthur Lucas Sr. (Naomi), Vladimer, Larry, Darryl Phelps, Yvonne Shoates (Charles), Mary McKenzie, Denise Phelps and Gloria Simon; his daughter-in-law Barbara Ann Lucas; his siblings-in-law, Bennie Brunson and Teresa Sias (Harry); and his grandchildren, Troshaundra Elie (Gerell), D'Aja Walker, J'Ada Walker and Shanel Shropshire. He is also survived by great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
