Bertha Mae Grant Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bertha Mae Grant (Akron, Ohio), born in Montezuma, Georgia, who passed away on June 10, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie B. Colzie and Birdia Mae Colzie; her siblings, Clara Emerson, Evelyn Rumph, Jennie Sanders, Sarah Colzie, J. C. Colzie, Jimmy Lee, Jessie Lee Colzie and Eddie Colzie; and her son Reverend Bobby J. Grant.

She is survived by: her children, Barbara A. Grant, Jennie L. Smith (Larry), Dr. Fannie L. Brown (Bill), Dr. Jessie L. Grant (Ray) and William Eric Grant (Arletta); her adoptive children, Juan "Man" Gibson and Minister Marilyn Coney; her grandchildren, Shanta R. Grant, Joceyln Grant, Kimiera Jerels Goodman, Erica Grant, Shannon Brown, Mae'Ieshie Dawson, Serenity Grant, Emerald Grant, William H. Brown II and Khay Grant; and her great grandchildren, Wesley Brown (Aliza), Aaden Grant, Samia Brown, Serenity Dawson, Avery Dawson and Winter Simone Jerels Goodman. She is also survived by numerous other relatives, friends, and church family members.
