She was predeceased by: her parents, Alexander Brunton and Elizabeth Brunton; her husband Cletus Smith; her children, Michael Smith and Annemarie Smith; and her siblings, Robert Brunton and Joanne Thur.

She is survived by: her children, Steven (Rhonda), William (Rebecca Adrion), Timothy, James (Susan), Jeremiah (Catrina), Thaddeus Smith, Kathleen Edmisten (Edward), Janet Young (Terry), Theresa Davis (Robert) and Christine Race (Keith); her sister Barbara Stubblefield; and her grandson Shawn. She is also survived by 30 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
