He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Vandegrift and Anna Jean Hope Vandegrift; and his brother Thomas Vandegrift. He is survived by: his wife Myra Vandegrift; his son Shawn Newpher (Sandy); his sister Conniejo Helems (Chris); his grandchildren, Andrew Newpher (Alexis), Emily Newpher, Lauren Matney (Charles Gobley) and Ryan Matney; and his great grandchildren, Kinsley Newpher and Barrett Newpher. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305, USA). A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
