We bid farewell to Charles G. Vandegrift (Akron, Ohio), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on June 25, 2025 at the age of 84. Charles G. touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his wife Viola; his parents, Eldon and Florence; and his siblings, Lucille Csonka, Chris Vandegrift, Clyde Vandegrift, Chester Vandegrift, Carl Vandegrift and Cecil Vandegrift.
He is survived by: his children, Tim Vandegrift (Mary) and Pam Underwood (Mike Phillips); his granddaughters, Amber Vandegrift (Kevin Dile), Traci Plungas (Dave) and Kayley Underwood; his great grandchildren, Brayden Ratliff, Viola Plungas and Isla Plungas; his siblings, Edith Bednar and Clair Vandegrift (Mary); and his sisters-in-law, Reva Newman, Carol Vandegrift and Carolena Vandegrift. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (131 N Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305, USA). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
