She was predeceased by: her husband Charles E. Prater; her parents, Frank Kendrick and Creasie Kendrick (Hopkins); her daughters, Connie Ward and Maggie Oliver; and her son-in-law Hibbie Hopkins.
She is survived by: her children, Cindy Ford (Carl), Bessie Hopkins, Troy (Shawn), David (Aleta) and Mike (Shelly); her sons-in-law, Paul Ward and Mark Oliver; and her siblings, Kathleen, Pat, Loretta, Franklin, William, John and David. She is also survived by mother and later became a proud grandmother, having 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, August 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305, USA). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, August 12th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
