He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmore Dowdell, Sr. and Rochelle Ford; and his brothers, Ronnie Dowdell, Melvin Dowdell and Jacob Dowdell.
He is survived by: his children, Elmore Dowdell, III (GA), Gregory Dowdell (GA), Marian Adams (GA), Connie Dowdell (GA), Bryan Dowdell (OH) and Tracy Wilson (GA). He is also survived by grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
