He was predeceased by: his parents, Tom Smith and Louise Thomas; his wife Betty Jane Smith; and his siblings, Mary Givens, Susan Bricker and Larry Smith.
He is survived by: his sisters, Billie Spitaleri and Patty Cartwright; his daughters, Gina (Mike), Tammy (David) and Debbie (Keith); and his close friend Don. He is also survived by six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
