With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Frederick I. Metzler Jr. in Akron, Ohio, who passed away on May 9, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred I. Sr. Metzler and Margaret Metzler; his son Derrick Terrell; his brother Jay Metzler; and his nephew David E. Clark.
He is survived by: his wife Priscella; his children, Fred Metzler III, Troy Metzler, Travis Terrell (Jamie) and Denise Chenervert (Greg); his grandchildren, Cody Chenervert (Jason Thompson), Anthony, Chris, Nick, Colton, Christian Terrell, Ian Carson, Anissa Mimms (Darius), Tori Terrell, Nya Terrell, Alexis Terrell and Maddy Smith; his sister-in-law Grace Metzler; his nieces, Pam Yost (John Sobinovsky), Jenae Caniglia (Rom) and Leanne Beavers (Scott); and his caregivers, Jen Hutcherson, Ray Linger, Jordan Crail, Fred and Norma J. Lewis.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 16th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305, USA). A burial will be held on Friday, May 16th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Hillside Memorial Park (1025 Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44312).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that everyone forward kindness and care that has been shown to them as the world needs so much more of this.
