With sadness, we share the passing of George Samia Owen (Akron, Ohio). George, born on August 5, 1948, passed away on August 23, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Yousef Samia and Adele Samia; and his sister Saidi Maroun of Australia. He is survived by: his wife Kim Owen; his sisters, Zayzuf Samia and Heluwe (Issa) of Lebanon; his siblings-in-law, Laura Gladieux (Ron) of Green, Lynn Hall (Rodney) of Alabama, Sandy Baylor of Florida, Michelle Leidel-Wilde of Florida, Bud Leidel (Glenda) of Hartville and Emile Maroun of Australia; his cousin George Maroun (Nada) of Akron; and his close friend Tony Mourad. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Rose Hill Funeral Home (3653 W Market St, Akron, OH 44333). A funeral service was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of the Cedars Maronite Church (507 S Cleveland Massillon Rd, Fairlawn, OH 44333).
The family has requested that although they will love and accept flowers, friends and loved ones may also consider donating to Our Lady of the Cedars Maronite Church.
