He was predeceased by: his parents, Gale Downey Sr. and Mabel Downey (Scherbarth); his former wife Jan Downey; his siblings, Gale Jr. and Edith Ann; and his daughter-in-law Leslie Downey.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce; his children, Colleen Fox (Pat), Scott Downey (Brenda), Arlene Schultheis (Scott) and Brian Downey (Andrea); his grandchildren, Courtney, Brian, Emily, Thomas, Abbie, Samantha, Andy and Parker; his great grandchildren, Liam, Uriah, Leia and Elijah; and his brother Phillip (Connie). He is also survived by many nieces' nephews, cousins, and friends.
