Iris will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around her. Though Iris is no longer present, the bonds she created and the experiences shared will endure. Iris’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew her.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman "Delos" Mallicoat and Dulcie Mallicoat (Ratliff); her husband William John VanBuskirk (Bill); and her siblings, Billy D. Mallicoat and Jane Mallicoat.
She is survived by: her children, Greg VanBuskirk (Missy) of Green, OH, John VanBuskirk (Amy) of Columbus, OH and Sharon Mizener (Roy) of North Canton, OH. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bacher-Moore Funeral Home (3326 Manchester Rd, Akron, OH 44319). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
