She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Wright and Thema Satterwhite; her brother Richard Wright; her grandchildren, Lamar Brooks, Richardo Dawood-Allison and JaLisa Buchanan; and her husband James Christian.
She is survived by: her children, Marquita Byars (Steve), Stephen Mutaali, Lisa Horton (Tony), Rasheeda Poindexter (Keith), Cathy Dawood and Omar Dawood; and her siblings, Janice Blair, Charles Wright, Joyce Hilton (Gerald), Michael Wright and Debra Douglas.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Stewart & Calhoun Funeral Home (529 W Thornton St, Akron, OH 44307). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 12:00 PM and at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at the Glendale Cemetery (150 Glendale Ave, Akron, OH 44302).
