He was predeceased by: his parents, Beatrice Carter and Robert E. Carter; and his brother Bill Carter. He is survived by: his wife Cathy Carter; his daughters, Lisa Smith (Chris) and Kristi Lutz (Paul); his stepdaughter Kimberly Steele (Eric); his grandchildren, Sam, Ben, Theresa Smith, Amelia Lutz and Bridget Lutz; his stepgrandchildren, Ashley Burkhammer and Alyssa Burkhammer; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Kaden Anderson, Serenity Luke and Xavier Wills; and his sister-in-law Becky Carter. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Community Church of Portage Lakes New Franklin, OH (3260 Cormany Road, Akron, OH 44319). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the Community Church of Portage Lakes (3260 Cormany Road, Akron, OH 44319).
