We announce the death of John Scott Mansfield of Akron, Ohio, born in Bellefontaine, Ohio, who passed away on September 15, 2026, at the age of 79. John Scott will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Mansfield and Jeanne Mansfield; his brother Jim Mansfield; his former wife Diane Wagner Mansfield; his wife Valerie Lewis Mansfield; his son Brian Mansfield; and his daughter-in-law Kristen Mansfield.
He is survived by: his sister Judy Shuber; his sons, Eric Mansfield (Lisa) and Jeffrey Mansfield; and his grandsons, Vinnie, Cody, Joshua, Jacob and Ted Mansfield. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Hennessy-Bagnoli-Moore Funeral Home (936 N Main St, Akron, OH 44310). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
