John Wesley Hawkins Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Wesley Hawkins of Akron, Ohio, who passed away on October 17, 2025 at the age of 74. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Hawkins and Dorothy Hawkins; and his significant other Robin Hawkins. He is survived by: his children, Megan Modica (Anthony) of Royal Oak, MI and John Glockner (Lynette) of Mathews, VA; his sister Sherry Davis (Dick) of Cuyahoga Falls, OH.; his grandchildren, Madilyn Modica, Brianna Glockner (Jadyn), Kaylynn Glockner (Cody Buffington) and Austin Glockner; his sibling's children, Maddy, Callie Carter, Mike Davis (Heidi), Steven Davis (Carol) and Rick Davis (Kristi); and his grandpup Dez.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 27th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Summit Church (2303 S Main St, Akron, OH 44319). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 27th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In keeping with John's wishes-no flowers, as the smell always reminded him of a funeral home. Instead, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, a cause close to their hearts, as diabetes brought significant challenges to John's life in recent years.
