He was predeceased by: his mother Jane Wilhelm; his stepfather Jack Wilhelm; his grandparents, Chester "Pappy", Freda Grace Price, Carl and Barbara Duer; his stepgrandfather Stephen Both; and his great-aunt Klara Steigerwald.

He is survived by: his children, Kristen Duer and Kristopher Duer; his granddaughter Mikayla Gibson; his father Jon K Duer (Cheryl); and his siblings, Katie Landals (Brian), Garth and Rollie Duer. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
