It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Leonard Giorgio of Akron, Ohio, who passed away on December 7, 2025, at the age of 102, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Rocco and Giovina; and his siblings, Domenic (Colleen) and Marian Yacovazzi (Larry). He is survived by: his wife Grace Scarpitti; his children, Susan and Gary; his daughter-in-law Teresa; his grandchildren, Marie Horner (Josh), Thomas (Ashlee), Daniel (Ana), Joseph, Monica (Jamie Peel), Katherine Roufael (Joud), Michael (Zhafira), Nicholas, Gianna, Samuel and Grace Stair; and his caregiver Kim Blankenship. He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and his second wife's children.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Anthony Funeral Home - Akron Chapel (1990 S Main St, Akron, OH 44301). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Bernard Catholic Church (44 University Ave, Akron, OH 44308). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 from 11:15 AM to 11:45 AM at the Holy Cross Cemetery (100 E Waterloo Rd, Akron, OH 44319). A reception will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the St. Bernard Catholic Church (44 University Ave, Akron, OH 44308).
