He was predeceased by: his parents, Carll Cooper and Florence Cooper (Mary Cooper); his children, Marcie Cooper, Marcus Cooper Jr. and Carlton Cooper; his granddaughter Carla Ogletree; his great grandchild Loren Bell Jr.; and his siblings, Howard Cooper, Clyde Cooper, Virgil Cooper, Lynda Cooper, Claudine Brazile and Cheryl Cooper.
He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Patrice Rice and Joenathan Speer; his grandchildren, Twila Stokes, Patrice Rice Jr. Melissa Smith, Latara Warren, Laquetta Speer, Joenathan Speer Jr. and Leondis Knox; his uncle Madison "Buck" Davis; and his siblings, Carll Cooper Jr., Curtis Cooper, William Wade, Catherine Kennibrew, Crystal Watson, Chandra Taylor and Carmella Wade. He is also survived by great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews.
