It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Marilyn Barkey (Akron, Ohio), who passed away on July 13, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Charles; her parents, Paul Hogarth and Grace Hogarth; her parents-in-law, Helen Heid (Hermann) and Jacob Barkey (Mildred); her brother David; her son Steven; and her cousin Jeanette Podnar.
She is survived by: her children, Michael (Cindy), Jeffrey (Marla) and Elisa Bechtel (William); her siblings, Natalie Eddy and John Hogarth (Julie); her grandchildren, Dawn Barkey, Jason Barkey (Jessica), Stephanie Hewitt, Jordan Barkey, Matthew Bechtel (Tonya) and Emily Barkey; her great grandchildren, Nehemiah, Zacchaeus and Genesis Bechtel; and her granddaughters, Abigail Barkey and Sophia Hewett. She is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews, and wonderful friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hummel Funeral Home - Copley (3475 Copley Rd, Akron, OH 44321). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Hummel Funeral Home (3475 Copley Rd, Akron, OH 44321).
