With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary Ann Sobitz (Akron, Ohio), who passed away on October 3, 2025 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Wesley Sobitz and Katy Sobitz; her siblings, Dorothy Prunari (Terry), Violet Sobitz, Catherine Emich (Al), Mike (Barbara), Wesley and Tim (Sue); and her siblings' children, Cindy Sisler and Brian Sobitz (Helouise Gates).
She is survived by: her sister-in-law Sue Sobitz; and her sibling's children, Michael (Kathy), Tim Sobitz (Brenda), Steve (Maria), Jeff, Lynn Messenger (Jim), Pam Emich, Sheila Trombka (Larry), Cheryl Paz (Billy) and Debbie Martell (Mike). She is also survived by many great nephews and nieces and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home (547 Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44312). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to Camp Carl in the name of David Burnham, her pastor for many years at the Chapel in Akron.
