She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Norton and Lawana Norton (Payne); her husband Delmar Johnston; her daughter Tonya Pickrell; and her siblings, Alice Baith, Betty Friess, Larry Norton and Kim Phillips.
She is survived by: her daughters, Denise Demboski (William), Bonita Richards (Charles) and Martina Sadler (James); her stepchildren, Todd Johnston (Tracy M.), Troy Johnston (Becky) and Tracy L. Johnston; and her siblings-in-law, Linda Norton and John Phillips. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bacher-Moore Funeral Home (3326 Manchester Rd, Akron, OH 44319). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, in memory of Novella A. Johnston.
