He was predeceased by: his parents, George Edgar and Elizabeth Edgar; his brother Craig; his sister-in-law Pam Edgar; his sister Janis; his brother-in-law Dick Dodds; and his niece Christy Dodds.
He is survived by: his wife Susan; his son Joel (Joann); and his grandson Jackson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Rose Hill Funeral Home (3653 W Market St, Akron, OH 44333). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Rose Hill Burial Park (3653 W Market St, Akron, OH 44333).
In Lieu of Flowers The family requests that memorial contributions be made in Richard's name to either the Alzheimer's Association or to Better Together Home Health and Hospice.
