Richard J. Markovich Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Richard J. Markovich in Akron, Ohio, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 11, 2025 at the age of 82. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Richard J. Markovich to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Markovich and Pauline Markovich; his wife Carol; his son Todd Markovich; his brother Leonard; and his siblings-in-law, A. Jeanne Markovich, Joseph Angelillo and Ofelia Markovich.
He is survived by: his daughter Dr. Renee Markovich; his daughters-in-law, Donna Donaldson and Jodi Markovich; his grandchildren, Jerry, Christopher and Sazah Markovich; his great grandchild Leo Markovich; his siblings, Rosemary Kalas (Matt), Elizabeth Angelillo, Loretta Yocum (Don), Joseph and Steve Markovich (Dorothy); and his niece Marie Shreves. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 at 3:30 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305, USA). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 at 4:30 PM at the St. Michael's Byzantine Church (2230 Highland Rd, Hermitage, PA 16148).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Village of St. Edward Foundation, 3131 Smith Rd., Akron, Ohio 44333.
