He was predeceased by: his parents, Steve Rachel and Matilda Rachel; his daughter Michele Powell; and his siblings, Steven, Al (Rosemary), Wanda Triche (Junie), Jimmy (Betty Lou) and Ilene Thompson (Ray).
He is survived by: his wife Rose Marie; his brother Ron (Judy); his son-in-law Scott Powell; and his grandchildren, Sarah (Dan Lenart) and Nicholas Powell (Marissa Hadney). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Paul Catholic Church (1580 Brown St, Akron, OH 44301). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Paul Parish (1580 Brown St, Akron, OH 44301).
